Today we are thrilled to announce that open source CoreOS Linux is available in China. The community in China has access to the automatic, secure software updates and container-optimized infrastructure provided by CoreOS Linux. Users can run applications in software containers on a consistent platform, worldwide. Global businesses benefit from running their applications and services geographically closer to their customers for reduced latency and a better user experience.

Microsoft Azure operated by 21Vianet is the first officially supported cloud provider for CoreOS Linux in China.

Global automatic software updates

With the availability of CoreOS Linux in a new region, the distributed systems community as well as small and large organizations across continents will benefit from automatic software updates and running their applications in software containers on a consistent platform globally. Current CoreOS Linux users can take advantage of a cloud-native platform to reach one of the world’s largest markets.

CoreOS Linux for public cloud, hybrid cloud, and bare metal

In China, CoreOS Linux is available and officially supported on Microsoft Azure operated by 21Vianet. CoreOS Linux additionally supports hybrid cloud scenarios, including running a single CoreOS Linux cluster across cloud and bare metal environments. This combination provides the widest scalability and a unified management interface.

With Microsoft Azure operated by 21Vianet an officially supported CoreOS Linux provider, the China developer community has access to a flexible, trusted, and secure cloud for CoreOS deployments. Both the open source community and Chinese businesses developing applications can now benefit from building and running their software on CoreOS Linux.
