In collaboration with typography specialist Paul Barnes, BKD developed the identity, signage and wayfinding system for the Whitworth Art Gallery
in Manchester.
Responding to the extensive refurbishment and remodelling of the building, the signage provides
a unifying element that stitches together the
variety of distinct architectural styles.
BKD worked closely with suppliers and makers to deliver a bespoke and crafted family of elements.
The finished result reflects the spirit of the Whitworth, whilst remaining sensitive to its architectural context.
